Celebrate Headland’s 150th at our first ever Ag Parade! The City of Headland has teamed up with the Headland Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate our anniversary and our rich agricultural heritage with a parade on the Fourth of July before our Annual Fireworks show in Douglas Park. The Ag parade will begin at 5pm and wind through downtown Headland on its way to Douglas Park featuring GIANT farm equipment and ending with the signature Corndodgers Candy Cannon. Join us on the square for face painting, balloons, snow cones and more! The Annual Fireworks Show will begin at 8:45pm but will begin when it is best to see the sky lit up at night. WHAT IS HEADLAND150?: City of Headland 150, aka. HEADLAND150 is an ongoing multi-faceted community recognition and celebration of City of Headland’s 150th Anniversary.
WHEN IS IT?: Throughout the anniversary year, with specific primary events to be held on July 4th, 2021 and Harvest Festival weekend. Throughout the entire year, ongoing local events, tie-ins, promotions, etc. will incorporate, mention and recognize the occasion/anniversary throughout the year.
ABOUT THE CELEBRATION: Residents, former residents, fans, friends, neighbors, and general lovers of the City of Headland are invited to recognize, commemorate, and celebrate the City of Headland’s 150th anniversary (“HEADLAND150”) throughout the entire year. The overall focus points of the ‘celebration’ are on building historic awareness, current day recognition and community pride in both the immediate and extended community that Headland so fortunately holds. Simply put, wherever you go, in and around Headland, throughout the year, it should be obvious that its Headland’s 150th Anniversary.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED: In support the celebration of the 150th anniversary, local and regional businesses, organizations and events (existing or newly created) are invited to incorporate City of Headland’s 150th anniversary into their theme or purpose during the remainder of 2021. Local and regional businesses, events and individuals are invited to participate as supporters.

Any/all area businesses or organizations are encouraged to get involved and create special events and/or tag their events, specials, promotions, products, etc. with a HEADLAND150 logo or theme. Possibilities could include a “HEADLAND150 Drink/cocktail”, “HEADLAND150 appetizer or special menu item”, “HEADLAND150 game”, “HEADLAND150 lodging or product package”, etc. The possibilities are endless!
